Travel agencies «concerned» with Islas Airways crisis

CEAV fears Spanair-like closure

Rafael Gallego, the president of the Spanish confederation of travel agents (CEAV) has expressed his concern at of the continued cancellation of Islas Airways flights, although he has remarked that the situation «is not new,» having been going on for several months.

In statements to Europa Press, Gallego has remarked that the biggest fear the agencies have is that the airline will closing as did Spanair, while at the same time reproaching the airline directors for not having issued any communiqué.

“Bridging the gap with Spanair, Islas Airways is the second airline of the Canarian community and we are almost at a national holiday, which can generate direct and collateral damage to many passengers,” he stressed.
